I have done both I have had less issues with theAR-15 Accessories senal than the tapco… Also I have done trigger jobs on both my rifles and I think theAR-15 Accessories senal is much smoother..Only my opinion… confusiussaid 1/18/2012 5:25:24 PM All of my AK-47 Accessories‘sAR-15 Accessories eAR-15 Accessories senals (except the Draco), and they all have tapco triggers now.

M1A Scope Mounts

The M14 Scope Mounts, you have to get magic headspace by lapping a bolt and timing the barrel, which is 10 times harder than swapping an AR10 barrel and bolt. Everything on the AR10 can be replaced by a grunt. A guy who does not think weight is an issue obviously never had to walk that far, or must be in the ultimate shape. I have seen Triathletes trim material off their shorts and shoes to save every little of fraction of an ounce.

The problem is the Mesa Tactical retension rubber piece is hollow and it does soften up over time and looses it’s holding ability. You can replace the stock rubber rention tube with something more solid like a piece of round vacuum cleaner belt or 1/8th” OD O-ring (truck/automotive use). It’s a shame Mesa Tactical hasn’t already upgraded this piece on their own.

ETA: Or you could just order a new piece from Mesa Tactical. The insert that came with mine said that they had them available.

Let me make sure im understanding this rite. Mesa Tactical actually says not to fire your shotgun with shells inside of its side saddle?

doesn’t that make the side saddle kinda(very) worthless!?

Mesa Tactical says no such thing.

AR10′s are also very good with hot loads, they seem to handle it much better than an M14 Scope Mounts, One hot load to the M14 Scope Mounts and say hello to Mr. Bent Op-rod and Hello to Mr Frequent Jams. AR10 is also easy on brass. The Military might not reload, but some of us do so that is another positive.

For scope mounting, AR10 is light years ahead because it is already on the Receiver and their is nothing to adjust or break. I think the best M14 Scope Mounts option to mount a scope is the LaRue Tactical SPR-E (or similar) mounted backwards on the Sage top rail. This way you can take off the entire top rail with scope in place to clean the M14 Scope Mounts, and when you put it back, POI shift will be very minimal and not even noticeable.

Extraction on the M14 Scope Mounts gets weaker and weaker with the round count, and it does not take a lot of rounds before you have super weak extraction where the shell barely leaves the rile. AR extraction is always positive.
